Beginner Swim Lessons

(M-T-TH-F, 2-week sessions)

Beginner Swim Lessons will be open to swimmers of all abilities that can not yet swim freestyle and backstroke for 25 meters (1 length of the pool). All participants must be fully potty-trained (water diapers are not allowed in the main pool) and comfortable separating from their parents.

Lessons will run in two week, eight day, 30-minutes sessions (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday), with the option of morning (11:00am or 11:30am) or afternoon (3:00pm or 3:30pm) lessons. Classes will be limited to 3 students per instructor. Each session will cost $110 and swimmers can register at the links below. (see table at top of page for session dates)

Swimmers will be separated into three basic levels:

  • Beginning (no breathing and no head in the water);
  • Mid-level (can blow bubbles, put face in water and streamline); and
  • Advanced (comfortable in water, some dog paddle, float half-streamline and beginnings of strokes in free and back).

Instructor evaluations to determine proper swimmer level placement will take place the previous Friday and Saturday respectively (see table at top of page for specific dates/times).

Youth Stroke & Turn Lessons

(M-T-TH-F, afternoons only)

Youth Stroke & Turn Lessons are for young swimmers in which the beginning swim lessons are no longer suitable. Students will know how to swim and complete a full length of the pool independently but would like to work on correct stroke development for the 4 competitive strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. This class will focus on proper stroke technique. Classes will be limited to 3 students per instructor. This is a deck-instructed class – instructor will not be in the water with the students.

Classes will be offered at 3:00pm or 3:30pm, and will meet for 30 minutes on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday for two consecutive weeks (8 lessons per session). Each session will cost $110 and swimmers can sign up for multiple sessions. (See table at top of page for session dates).

*Due to the popularity of these lessons and the limited space available, we have had to implement a cancellation policy. If a session is full, cancellations for enrolled students must be received in by email (programs@wildwoodpool.com) 72 hours before the first day of class to receive a full refund. Cancellations less than 72 hours before the start of the session will be subject to a $25 administration fee. No refunds will be given after the session has started. Please be sure to withdraw if your child will not be taking the class so that another member can enroll their child. Thank you for your cooperation!

Instructor evaluations to determine proper swimmer level placement will take place the previous Saturday before each session starts (see table at top of page for specific dates/times)
