2025 Board Nominee Bios
(The By-Laws set the terms for each new board member at 3-years.* A maximum of 9 fully-vested members can serve on the board.)
3-Year Term:
Ramy Fayed
Ramy Fayed and his family (Rebecca, Zachary (17), and Jacob (14)) have been members of Wildwood since 2021. Ramy currently is the Wildwood Manor pool board president and in that role led the construction of the new pool and continues these efforts as the remaining projects are being brought to completion. Ramy is both a USA Swimming / Potomac Valley Swimming and Montgomery County Swim League (“MCSL”) certified official. He spends most of his weekends throughout the year, as well as Wednesday nights during the summer, on the pool deck as either a referee, starter, or stroke and turn judge. When he’s not spending time on the pool deck, hanging out with his family, cooking/barbequing, or cheering on his favorite sports teams, he’s working as a partner in Dentons’ Health Care Practice Group in Washington, D.C. advising clients on health regulatory matters.
Steve Kapuschansky
Steve and his family have been active members of the Wildwood Manor pool for the past four years and they have enjoyed their summers at the pool, participating in swim team activities, and attending the masters swimming program. Steve has gotten a chance to work with the current board members on installing the networking, audio, and camera systems this past year and he was very impressed with the dedication those members have to the pool. He believes he has enough experience with the operations of the pool to help the board continue to provide the best neighborhood pool in the area.
As a board member, Steve will continue to maintain and upgrade the systems he has installed this summer. He is also very handy and has a variety of tools to perform maintenance on just about anything at the pool (He does not do gas lines!). Steve will be an active board member and have many ideas on how we can continue to make the pool a great place to spend our summers. For those who have not gotten to know him, he is a problem solver and will not be silent at board meetings when issues are discussed.
Allison Peppelman
Allison and family have been proud members of Wildwood for well over a decade. Her children have grown up spending happy summers at the pool and competing on the swim team, from Mini-bats to now senior Wombats. Allison teaches Junior Kindergarten at a local independent school, and has always been an active community volunteer, including serving several past terms on the Wildwood board. She is again excited to give time and energy back to this special community that has always held such an important place in her family’s heart, helping it continue to grow and thrive as a treasured part of our neighborhood community.
Adam Sowalsky
Relaxing at the Wildwood Manor Pool with his family is what helps Adam Sowalsky get through the cold winter and rainy springtime in Bethesda. Together with his wife Jessica, Ari (6), Shira (4) and Raya (2), Adam is already looking forward to spending weekend afternoons by the pool next summer. During the week, Dr. Sowalsky is a Principal Investigator at the National Institutes of Health, running a prostate cancer research lab at the National Cancer Institute. Adam hopes his children will follow in his footsteps with respect to his major hobbies—playing piano and cooking—but for now, appeasing both the musical and dietary preferences of young children is enough of a challenge. Adam is selfishly hoping that by serving on the Wildwood Manor Pool Board with other volunteers, the experiences he and his family have enjoyed over the last four years at the pool continue to be a highlight of his and other pool members’ future summers.
Susan Torzilli
Susan enjoys spending time at the pool and the wonderful community the pool engenders. Susan is particularly grateful for the renovated pool and all the work that went into making it happen. As one of the pool’s closest neighbors, Susan had an excellent view of the changes, especially the retaining wall, ball court, and driveway expansion.
Susan is from the area and is a graduate of Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School. She and her husband Paul, moved to the Wildwood Manor neighborhood in the summer of 2013. She and her family have been members of the pool since 2014. Susan has two children, one of whom enjoys being on the Wildwood Wombats swim team.
She previously served as a board member at Rock Spring Children’s Center (2018-2023). She held two leadership positions: Vice Chair and Chair of the Policy Committee. Susan has worked in consumer financial protection for over 12 years. She is currently an Assistant Director at the Federal Reserve Board.
1-Year Extension:
Cliff Shore
Cliff grew up in New York and moved to Bethesda with his wife Andrea in 2008. He has two children, aged 14 and 11, who attend Walter Johnson High School and North Bethesda Middle School. He has been a member of the Wildwood pool for eleven years. He’s enjoys being a board member to help contribute to the Wildwood Manor Pool and continue to make it a welcoming, safe, and fun place for all. Cliff received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison—Go Badgers! He is currently the Chief Procurement Officer for George Mason University. Cliff has 25 years of experience in areas of purchasing, contracts and operations.
